A yacht has sunk off Townsville in clear view from the shore.
The single mast sailing vessel, moored in the Duckpond near the Ville Resort-Casino, could be seen leaning to its side as water filled its hull.
Police said the boat started taking on water yesterday.

Townsville Water Police officer in charge Sergeant Matthew Pegg said officer from Maritime Safety Queensland inspected the vessel this morning.
It is unknown if the yacht was abandoned.
A number of boats have sunk in that area before.
Boat wrecks have caused issues in Townsville waterways for years.
In 2018 the state government declared war on wrecks to stop them creating hazards and polluting marine environments.
More than 600 wrecks have been removed from waterways since the $20 million initiative was launched, including dozens in Townsville.
