A woman has died in a horror two vehicle crash in the centre of a North Queensland town.
Police said a 53-year-old Mount Isa was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Mount Isa last night.
Preliminary information suggests a ute was travelling northbound on Simpson St when it collided with a station wagon travelling in the opposite direction about 8.20pm.
The woman was a passenger in the station wagon. She was entrapped and suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the station wagon, a 32-year-old woman, and a male passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Mount Isa Base Hospital.
The 20-year-old driver of the ute and a female passenger were not seriously injured but were taken to hospital for observation.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
