The Townsville Business Women’s Circle willcelebrate one of its largest functions of the year to mark International Women’s Day.
This International Women’s Day, the not-for-profit organisation will bring together the visionaries who helped shape the business women’s circle into the force it is today.
To celebrate, the Townsville Business Women’s Circle will host an inspiring panel discussion featuring its patrons, Michelle Morton, Jayne Arlett and Debbie Rains.
The audience will hear their stories interwoven under the expert guidance of inaugural business women’s circle president, Joanna Murray, with radio host Kate Jeboult as MC.
Townsville Business Women’s Circle president Kirsty Keyes said International Women’s Day had evolved significantly since its inception, and this growth was a wonderful reflection of the progress women have made both regionally and globally.
“It’s an important opportunity to celebrate the incredible strides women have taken in their respective industries and the positive impact we continue to make in the workforce,” Kirsty said.
“By acknowledging and honouring these achievements, we not only highlight how far we’vecome but also inspire the next generation of women to reach even greater heights.
“It’s also about celebrating the achievements of women while acknowledging the work still to be done.
“As we also mark 10 years of the reimagined Townsville Business Women’s Circle, we reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us here and the women who have shaped our success.
“Our luncheon is not just a celebration, but a powerful reminder that when women support women, remarkable things happen.”
Tickets start at $130 for business women’s circle members, $160 for non-members and tables of 10 can be bought for $1400.
Tickets include: a glass of sparkling on arrival; a delicious two-course alternate drop menu and a three-hour soft drinks package (cash bar available). There will also be exciting raffle prizes and a lucky door prize
All raffle proceeds will support the Marsh Education Bursary, which empowers the next generation of women in the community

The Women’s Society will celebrate the superwomen of our community at its International Women’s Day function on March 8 between 10.30am to 2.30pm at Levanti Townsville.
Guest speaker Joy Okobi will be launching and performing her new song, Superwoman.
Joy will also share her inspiring journey as an advocate for women’s empowerment.
The function will also include live entertainment, canapes, goodie bags and a raffle.
The event is a chance to connect, uplift and honour the superwomen in our lives in an atmosphere filoled with joy, empowerment and community spirit.

Community Information Centre and Together Townsville Networks will hostan International Women’s Day event on March 7 between 5.30pm and 7pm at the Mercure Townsville.

Soroptimist Townsville Breakwater and Ignatius Park College will celebrate International Women’s Day with its annual breakfast, held March 14 between 6.30am and 8.30am.
Tickets ($55) includes breakfast and lucky door prize. Food will be from Cuisine on Bowen and Glenn “Minty’ Mintern will be the MC. The venue is Edmund Rice Hall, Ignatius Park College. The International Women’s Day Fun Run on March 8 is presented by Queensland X-Ray and sees supporters hit the track in their best pink attire to complete one or two laps of the racetrack at Cluden park, raising awareness and vital funds for Mater Chicks in Pink and women affected by breast cancer. The festivities will continue in the Celebration Zone, where there will be plenty of community stalls, family activities, food and drink on offer.
