UPDATE 8.40pm: A MAN suspected of having a gun has been found by police.
Crews broke the cordon about 8.30pm after police found the man, who did not have a gun in his possession, in Gosper St.
Police said the incident was a “misunderstanding” by the initial caller.
BREAKING: POLICE are looking for an armed man who was threatening to kill people in a Townsville street after pulling a handgun.
Multiple police crews and the dog squad rushed to Gosper St, Vincent about 7.50pm and cordoned off the area while they searched for the man.
A resident initially called police after she heard a man yelling and screaming in the street, who then pulled a handgun from his pants and waved it around, threatening to kill people.
The man was last seen walking towards Paskin St.
