Reckless youths hung from the window of a stolen disability services vehicle during another chaotic weekend in Townsville, where five cars were stolen in less than two hours.

Police were under pump as stolen cars continued to wreak havoc across the city on Sunday until the early hours of Monday morning.

In North Ward, three stolen cars — a Toyota HiLux, Isuzu Dmax and Holden Sedan — were driving dangerously and crashing into parked cars about 2.30pm on Sunday.

Police said one of the stolen cars collided with a number of parked cars and trees on Cook St as it headed towards Jezzine Barracks.

The driver of the damaged stolen car dumped it and fled in another stolen vehicle which crashed on Isley Rd. Police eventually seized all three vehicles.

Youths were also seen hanging out of the window of a stolen white MG3 as it hooned dangerously on Kent St, Gulliver with a stolen BT-50 about 1pm on Sunday.

The white MG3 was stolen from disability services provider MiAbilities on Ross River Rd, Heatley, on July 27.

Masked youths posed in front of the white MG3 and BT-50 as they went live on Instagram in the car park outside Stocklands Shopping Centre on Sunday night.

A girl wearing a black mask, cap and red gloves laughed as she taunted some of the viewers watching.

“Apparently we’re dead,” she said.

“Apparently we started a war.

“They’re trying to say I was jumping out smashing their house up. I wasn’t. They’re stupid.”

Another member of her group in the stolen MG3 yelled, “What they gonna do?”

As she hops back into the MG3, the girl can be heard saying: “I’m sure there’s vigilates on the run, motherf****s.”

Police said the white MG3 was dumped and set on fire in Wellington St, Gulliver at 2.15am on Monday.

Four youths were also seen fleeing the scene of a stolen car fire at Enterprise St, Bohle about 1.10am.

Police said a Hyundai 130 Sedan was stolen from an address on Lady Musgrave Circuit, Burdell about 1am and less than 15 minutes later two vehicles — a black MG ZS station wagon and yellow MG hatch — were stolen from an address on Kata Pl, Mount Louisa.

The two MGs were later located at Dalrymple Rd and O’Keefe St, Vincent.

The Audi dealership on Bowen Rd was also broken into about 2.06am after the offenders kicked their way in through a glass door. Police said no vehicles appeared to have been stolen.

Two vehicles — a red Kia Picanto hatchback and a white Ford Everest station wagon — were also stolen from an address on Orana Court, Castle Hill about 2.39am.
