A Townsville man has succumbed to his injuries after an E-scooter incident on Friday, June 13.
Queensland Police Service said on Sunday that the 34-year-old Mundingburra man had died in Townsville University Hospital “following a serious traffic crash in Mount Louisa”.
“About 4.20am, an E-scooter rider was located unresponsive on Dalrymple Road,” a QPS spokesperson said.
“The rider, a 34-year-old Mundingburra man, was transported to Townsville University Hospital, however, has since died.”
QPS said police wanted to speak to the driver of a blue Holden Commodore ute who was “in the area at the time of the incident”.
“The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing to the driver of the Holden and anyone with information or relevant vision to come forward.”
EARLIER: Elderly man hurt in alleged Townsville assault
An elderly man has allegedly been assaulted in an incident in southern Townsville on Sunday morning.
Queensland Police Service confirmed that officers were still on scene of the incident in Abbott Street, Oonoonba, in which a man in his 60s was injured at 8.30am.
A QPS spokesman said the man had suffered minor injuries.
He said the alleged offender remained “outstanding”.
Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were also on scene “assessing a male patient in his 60s”.
A QAS spokeswoman said the victim, who had suffered a chest injury, was in a stable condition.
Two people were injured in two separate vehicle accidents in Townsville on Saturday evening.
In the first incident in the West End, a male teenager suffered head and arm injuries following a collision involving an E-scooter and a vehicle on the corner of Percy Street and Crauford Street at 5.53pm.
QAS said he was transported in a stable condition to Townsville University Hospital.
Less than 30 minutes later, a person suffered minor injuries and was also taken to TUH following a two-vehicle crash on the corner of Hugh Street and Ingham Road at 6.21pm.
Two Queensland Fire Department crews are currently on the scene of a vegetation fire on Mount Elliot.
