A group of youths are on the run after stealing money from a Townsville bus driver who confronted them for sniffing aerosols on-board.
Police said a bus driver pulled over to confront several youths for vandalising and “chroming” on the bus at the corner of Fulham Rd and Park St in Pimlico at about 8pm on Monday.
Initial investigations suggest the driver told the kids to get off and they stole the money tin from the bus before running down Fulham Rd. No violence or threats were made.
The police dog squad were called in track the youths but were unable to located them.
Police will be requesting footage from the bus as their investigations continue.
