A 30-year-old Wulguru man allegedly involved in a Sunday afternoon crash which led to five people being hospitalised appeared in court on Monday.
Jordan James Nemec is facing charges of driving while disqualified, driving an uninsured vehicle, having an unregistered vehicle on the roads and possessing dangerous drugs.
His lawyer Andrew Peel asked Magistrate Susan Warrington if Nemec could be brought into the arrest court from the watch house for a brief conference.
A battered looking Nemec appeared in the dock and spoke with Mr Peel for some minutes before he asked Ms Warrington for an adjournment.
Ms Warrington adjourned the case for another mention on November 24 with Nemec remaining in custody.
Earlier, police reported that two vehicles including a 4WD collided on Francis Street in West End around 1pm on Sunday.
Five people were hospitalised following the accident that resulted in the 4WD smashing through a fence and hitting a parked car and a house on Sunday afternoon.
A pregnant woman, a baby and elderly woman were among those taken to hospital. All were subsequently listed as stable.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that the driver of a vehicle involved in a chaotic crash in which two vehicles had collided ‘at speed’ had been arrested and was set to face court.
It’s understood that the two vehicles collided on Francis Street in West End around 1pm on Sunday, causing one of the vehicles to crash through a fence and strike a parked car.

The Wulguru man has been charged with driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle and possession of a dangerous drug.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday.
Multiple emergency crews responded to the accident on Francis Street, West End at 1pm.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said investigations were still underway but it was believed three vehicles were involved.
Queensland Ambulance Service said five patients had been taken to hospital. All patients are listed as stable.
She said a pregnant woman, a baby and elderly woman were among the victims taken to hospital.
QAS confirmed all four patients were in stable conditions.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Kirkam, speaking at the scene, said the area had been cordoned off to traffic.
He praised members of the Cutheringa Bowls Club who came to the assistance of the injured victims.
