A Townsville couple will head into the weekend $10,000 richer after winning big in their weekly scratchie ritual.

A Townsville couple will head into the weekend $10,000 richer after winning big in their weekly scratchy ritual.

The retired couple bought the winning $1 Slosh Dosh Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Nextra at Willows Shopping Centre at Thuringowa Central.

“We scratched the ticket last week,” the winning man explained.

“We buy a few $1 tickets every week. We were absolutely shocked when we saw we had won!”

The man said he kept checking the ticket, counting the symbols over and over again in disbelief.

“It was very exciting! Something we never expected,” he said.

The couple are yet to decide what they will spend their winnings on.

Nextra Willows News manager Roslyn Brown said she hoped this was the beginning of a winning streak for the outlet.

“Winning this prize was such a lovely surprise for our regular customers,” she said.

“We hope we see plenty more customers score life-changing prizes.”

In 2019, there were 114 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $9.61 million in top prizes.
