A Townsville teen who was stabbed in an attempted carjacking at Stockland has spoken out about the terrifying ordeal and how he managed to fight off his three alleged attackers.

Noah Hooper, 19, was walking back to where he parked his dad’s dual cab ute at Stockland shopping centre when three young boys approached him and allegedly tried to steal the car at 4.45pm on Saturday.

The Bushland Beach teen said he fought the boys off, including one allegedly armed with a knife, as they tried to get his keys.

“I got into the front seat and was trying to close my door, but one of them jumped in the back seat while the other was trying to stab me from the front,” he said.

“I kicked the fella at the front, and that’s when the knife went through my leg.”

Mr Hooper said he dropped the keys during the scuffle and got out of the car to try and retrieve them.

“That’s when one of them jumped in the car and tried to drive off, so I ran over and ripped him out of the car,” he said.

“During the scuffle, my wallet and phone fell out, and they picked them up, so I chased them down.”

Police said they located two alleged offenders who fled the scene on foot, and the third was found later.

Mr Hooper was taken to hospital where he received stitches for the stab wound on his leg and treatment for the slash across his arm.

“There was blood everywhere,” he said.

“I’m still in a fair bit of pain. I guess I’m lucky they didn’t get me anywhere else.

“They were telling me they were going to kill me and hand over the f***ing keys. But I wasn’t going to back down.

“To be honest, I was more worried about what my dad would think if I let them take his car.”

Noah’s dad Shane Hooper — a well-known local boxing trainer — said he was grateful his son wasn’t hurt any worse.

“The stab was a few centimetres deep and it just missed his artery,” he said.

A 15-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy have since been charged with one count each of armed robbery in company with violence and unlawful entry of a vehicle.

The trio appeared before Townsville Children’s Court on Monday and were denied bail.
