Smart Precinct NQ managing director Matt Steine said the not-for-profit organisation offered resources and networking for businesses wanting to be nationally and internationally competitive.
“We are bringing together the incredible talents in Townsville to support each other and new businesses. Our goal is to make Townsville the best regional city in Australia to base a high-growth business,” Mr Steine said.
Mayor Jenny Hill and state government deputy director-general of innovation Sarah Pearson will attend the launch where some of the precinct’s entrepreneurs will make pitches on their ventures.
Mr Steine said with Australia’s largest defence base, world-class universities, plans for a hydrogen-fuelled economy, agriculture, minerals processing and a deep-water port, Townsville was uniquely placed to support the development and deployment of technology that would continue to transform these industries over the next decade.
