UPDATE MONDAY 2.40PM: FOUR of the seven teens allegedly involved in a shocking incident that saw three police officers injured over the weekend, have been released on bail.

The Bulletin revealed the alleged driver of the car involved in the incident, along with one of the passengers, was already out on bail at the time of the crash.

Now four of the seven, allegedly inside that car, have walked from custody and are out on bail.

The weakness of Queensland’s youth bail laws have been under the spotlight in the past week, following the death of a Brisbane couple, when an allegedly stolen car driven by a teenager out on bail, rolled and hit them while they walked their dog.

Then the alleged actions of a number of teens over the weekend in Townsville, which endangered the lives of several drivers and people out walking on Saturday morning, thrust the Palaszczuk Government’s bail laws onto the national stage.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Townsville police last night.

This comes as the other six children allegedly involved in the incident which ended on Riverway Drive were charged.

The 13 year old is yet to be charged by police.

Investigations are continuing.
