Sir Elton John touched down this afternoon at Townsville Airport at 2.46pm.
The stylish musician arrived aboard his private jet, a Global Express-BD-700-1A10 M-EDZE.
The singer will officially open the Queensland Country Bank Stadium tonight when he performs his tour, Farewell Yellow Brick Road.
The 72 year old will play to about 20,000 fans when he graces the stage at 7.30pm.
