A TRUCK driver is lucky to be alive after his semi-trailer toppled over the side of an embankment at a Condon work site on Monday afternoon.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the crash took place at the Townsville Ring Road construction site, near Beck Dr, just after 3pm.
The 64-year-old male driver managed to free himself from the truck.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said he was treated by paramedics for shock and a cut to the back of the head.
He was taken to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.
