Police set up crime scene around Gulliver home where two people have been found dead

Police have revealed more information about the deaths of a man and a woman found in a Gulliver home, saying there is no threat to the public.

UPDATE 12.30am:

Police have confirmed a man and a woman have been found dead in a Gulliver home this morning.

Townsville Superintendent Glen Pointing said police were still investigating what exactly happened at about 9am this morning, but has confirmed that the duo were found dead inside a Fulham Rd home.

Queensland Police put out a statement about 12.30pm, saying both were aged in their 40s.

The statement said the pair also appear to be known to each other.

Acting Chief Superintendent Pointing said police could not reveal specifics about the deaths, but said forensic crews were investigating.

He said police were investigating many scenarios, including murder-suicide.

Supt Pointing said police had received no information that it was a domestic violence-related incident.

A neighbour told the Townsville Bulletin that he spoke with a relative of a woman who lived inside the home before police arrived.

The man told the neighbour the door had been broken down and the home was broken into.

Supt Pointing said the community had no reason to be concerned about their welfare in wake of this incident.

He said nobody had been taken into custody.
