Police are on the hunt for a man after an armed holdup at a Townsville pharmacy.

Police are on the hunt for a man after an armed hold-up a Townsville pharmacy.

It is understood the man used a knife during the robbery of the business, located on Burnda St and made off with a quantity of medication.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said officers were called to the job about 8.10am.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

Police investigations including a search for the person responsible continue.
