Police search for man after car crashes into church in Aitkenvale
Multiple police units are currently searching for a man after he crashed a car into a Townsville church before he fled the scene and allegedly tried to break into other vehicles.

Multiple police units are currently searching for a man after he crashed a car into a local church before he fled the scene and allegedly tried to break into other vehicles.
The incident occurred around 5pm on Leopold St in Aitkenvale, with witnesses calling the police soon after the crash.
It’s believed the man tried to break into other vehicles after he crashed before fleeing the scene.
The Nissan Tiida suffered significant damage as a result of the crash, as did the fence of the Seventh Day Adventist Church Aitkenvale.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said it’s unconfirmed if the car was stolen.
He said the search is continuing for the male driver.
