POLICE were called to Stockland Plaza at Aitkenvale on Sunday following reports a man was wielding a knife and threatening customers.
A spokeswoman from Queensland Police said a man was seen to be creating a nuisance in the shopping centre shortly after 5pm before he was detained and searched at the neighbouring Sunvale Shopping Centre.
The spokeswoman said police did not find a knife in the man’s possession but instead located cannabis.
The man was issued with a notice to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court.
