Police are appealing for witnesses who could help identify a man suspected of wrapping a belt around his knuckles and punching another man in the head, knocking him out.

Police are appealing for witnesses who could help identify a man suspected of wrapping a belt around his knuckles and punching another man in the head, knocking him out.
It will be alleged the assault took place after the victim exited a bar on Flinders St between 2.10am and 2.30am on Saturday, July 11.

When police arrived they located the 42-year-old unconscious man on the ground outside the bar, unresponsive and bleeding.
The man was taken Townsville University Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
