The couple, who are due in early September kept their announcement simple letting the smiles of their children Maiya, 5 and Max, 4 do all the talking.

“Baby McGuire #3 coming soon,” the caption read in their announcement online.

Speaking with the Townsville Bulletin, Mrs McGuire said the couple broke the news to the kids in true North Queensland style while eating fish and chips at the beach with friends.

“They were both super excited, Maiya is obsessed with little babies so is just beside herself about it,” she said.

Mrs McGuire said they had never looked back since making the switch to the Cowboys from the Brisbane Broncos at the start of last year, and welcoming a newborn to the mix only made Townsville feel even more like home.

“We absolutely love it here … apart from the heat,” she said.

“The lifestyle is so laid back and it’s such a great place to raise kids.”
