EMERGENCY services were forced to extinguish multiple vehicle fires burning around North Queensland on Monday night.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said a stolen ute was reported to be burning on the Hervey Range off-ramp of the Ring Road at Bohle Plains, just before 6.30pm.
She said the occupants of the vehicle fled before police arrived and a crime scene had been declared.
Police investigations were continuing.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said crews quickly extinguished the blaze.
Motorists reported seeing people setting the ute alight before leaving in another vehicle.
Meanwhile, on Palm Island, two vehicles and a boat were reportedly set on fire in the backyard of a house on Gribble St just before 5.30pm.
One car was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.
All vehicles have since been extinguished.
Palm Island police are investigating the incident.
