New Bundock St childcare centre one step closer

Townsville parents could soon have a new childcare option with a development application for a new childcare centre recommended for approval.

The truth about the cost of living in Australia

Townsville parents could soon have a new childcare option with a development application for a new childcare centre recommended for approval.

The proposal would see the construction of a childcare centre on Bundock St that would create up to 26 jobs and cater for 130 children for full time placements and 30 children for after school placements.

“This development proposal would benefit our residents living and working close to the centre by providing them with more opportunities to secure a childcare placement, especially as our population and the demand continues to grow,” Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said.

“It will also support our childcare sector by creating 26 new full-time jobs, which is fantastic for our early childcare workers that need secure and ongoing work.”

The application will go to full council for consideration on October 27.
