Neighbour Peter MacElroy said a man told him the house was broken into this morning

WATCH: Neighbours have described what they saw before two people were found dead inside a Gulliver home, with one saying she saw men running from the home.

A NEIGHBOUR has recounted the moments before he found out two people had been found dead inside a home at Gulliver, saying a group of men arrived at the house before police.

Peter MacElroy, a neighbour, said he saw a group of men arrive at the home about 9am, with one of the men crossing Fulham Rd to speak with him.

“He said the door has been knocked down (at the home), and broken into and they were waiting for police,” Mr MacElroy said.

Peter MacElroy said he spoke to the brother of a woman who lives inside the home.

Another neighbour said she saw men running from a home before police arrived.

A woman, who did not wish to be named, said she was drinking her coffee at her Fulham Rd home about 8.30am when she saw two young men arrive at the house.

“Seen these young fellas … gone over to the residence … and I’ve seen them running to go back and get their car,” she said.

“And then they’ve come back in a white four-wheel drive … come and grabbed something and seen them running across the road again, and not long after that police rocked up.”

The woman said she did not know the people that lived in the home, and felt very sad for them.

The woman said she had never seen so many police in her life.

Acting Superintendent Glen Pointing said despite the neighbour’s reports, the public had no need to fear for their safety.

He said police were not looking for anyone.

Forensic crews and multiple detectives are on scene and speaking with neighbours.

Mr MacElroy said he thought a woman and a child lived inside the home.

He didn’t hear anything, only a bunch of sirens as police and paramedics approached.

Mr MacElroy said it was a usually quiet area, full of “normal” people.
