A man has been taken into custody after a dramatic 12-hour-long standoff with police responding to reports of a shot allegedly being fired at a Mount Isa residence.

A man has been taken into custody after a dramatic 12-hour-long standoff with police responding to reports of a shot allegedly being fired at a Mount Isa residence.
Police have revoked an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) after responding to a reported domestic violence incident at about 10.10pm on Friday.
District Duty Officer (DDO) Ben Walsh said police received reports of a shot being fired, and the man was believed to be holed up at a residence with a weapon.
Negotiators were talking with the man from about midnight until he was eventually taken into custody after 10.30am on Saturday.
Police said he is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
The emergency declaration – which advised the public to avoid West Street, Isa Street, Miles Street, and Rodeo Drive – has now been revoked.
