A motorbike rider has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car on a busy Townsville road this afternoon.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said they were called to the intersection of Boundary St and Charters Towers Rd in Hermit Park just after 2pm.
It’s believed a four-wheel drive rear-ended the motorbike at the intersection.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said they treated the motorbike driver, a 59-year-old woman, at the scene.
She was later transported to Townsville University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. She remains in hospital in a stable condition.
It’s believed the driver of the four-wheel drive has undertaken a blood-alcohol level test.
They were later taken away by police for further testing.
