An allegedly intoxicated Townsville woman ended up ordering herself a large side of criminal charges after stacking her 4WD on a retaining wall at a Macca’s drive thru.
Queensland Police Service confirmed that a 30-year-old Condon woman was involved in the serious and embarrassing incident at McDonald’s Townsville Thuringowa on the corner of Hervey Range Rd and Thuringowa Dr in Kirwan early Sunday morning.
“Around 2.20am, a Toyota Landcruiser entered a drive through at a fast-food restaurant before driving over a retaining wall,” a QPS spokeswoman said.
“No one was physically injured.”
A person who provided a photo of the incident said it was fortuitous that no one was injured, saying the ugly occurrence highlighted the potential “dangers on our roads”.
QPS said the woman was charged with one count each of driving under influence of liquor and driving without due care of attention.
She is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on December 11 and is yet to enter a plea.
