Man pinned by machinery, car crashes off road at Crystal Creek
A man is pinned under machinery near Oak Valley and a car has left the road near Crystal Creek. Here is everything we know so far.

Two major incidents are unfolding across the Greater Townsville region this morning, Saturday May 11.
Brookhill rescue
11am: Three emergency crews are at the scene of a technical rescue beside the Flinders Hwy.
QFES have confirmed a man’s legs have been pinned under a piece of heavy machinery.
Specialist heavy rescue equipment has arrived on the scene and crews are now using airbags to lift the machinery off the man’s body.
It’s still unknown if the incident is occurring near the highway or on private property.
The location is somewhere in Brookhill, south of Oak Valley, near Antill Plains Creek.
11.41am: The trapped man has been freed from under the heavy machinery and is being treated by paramedics for leg injuries. QAS says the man is aged in his 50s and the incident happened on private property.
UPDATE 12:13pm: A stable patient has been transported to Townsville University Hospital with leg injuries after a “piece of machinery fell on the patient”, according to QAS.
Crystal Creek car crash
11:15am: Emergency crews are on their way to the scene of a car crash near Crystal Creek.
Details reported in the triple-0 call describe a single car going off the side of Mount Spec Rd, with all occupants safely out of the car.
Emergency crews are yet to arrive on scene and confirm these details.
Mount Spec Rd is the only road up to Paluma.
UPDATE 11:50am: A QFES crew has arrived on scene. Driver is out of the vehicle and talking with crews. Car is located about five metres down a steep embankment and cannot be reached. Tow truck on the way. The location of the crash is understood to be halfway between the Crystal Creek swimming area and Paluma village.
