A Townsville car dealership had to deal with a flighty new customer who insisted on staying and eating a staff member’s bread.
A duck, which appears to be someone’s pet, landed at the Townsville Honda dealership off Duckworth St on Tuesday afternoon.
Sales manager Allen Hirmiz said the duck took a fancy to the latest small hatchback, the Honda Jazz, earning it the nickname Jazzy.

Mr Hirmiz said Jazzy could have stopped at any of the dealerships in the Townsville Auto Group, including Isuzu, Jeep and Haval but opted to stay at Honda. “It won’t leave the Honda sales yard,” he said.
“We’ve fed it and given it water.
“It looks like a farm duck.
“It’s obviously used to humans but keeps its distance. It’s very friendly.”
Jazzy was removed from the dealership yesterday after staff called the RSPCA. The duck is reportedly missing from a property at Annandale.
Under local law, Townsville residents can keep up to six ducks on a property under 1000sq m and up to 12 ducks on larger property smaller than 4000sq m.
