Castle Hill will come alive with the sound of aerobatic aeroplanes at the Lexus of Townsville Air Fair this weekend.
Mike Carney Group business development manager Rebecca Gravelle said Lexus of Townsville and Cancer Council Queensland would host a charity ball at The Ville Resort-Casino on Friday night followed by the Lexus of Townsville Air Fair on The Strand on Saturday and Sunday.
“The weekend-long event will mark the inaugural appearance of Matt Hall Racing in Townsville, offering an exclusive blend of excitement, luxury and philanthropy.”
Australian Matt Hall is one of the world’s most accomplished aerobatic pilots and is the reigning Red Bull Air Race World Champion.
All of the money raised in Townsville during the event will be spent locally.
Cancer Council Queensland CEO Andrew Donne said 1400 North Queenslanders were diagnosed with cancer every year – four people day.
“We are so proud to be partnering with Lexus of Townsville for this amazing community event,” he said.
“All the funds raised will continue to help us ensure that no Queenslander – no matter where they live – will have to navigate cancer alone.”
The events, which will include acrobatics over the casino on Friday nights is being supported by Carey Group, ARN, Townsville Airport, Townsville Helicopters and The Ville.
Punters will be able to grab a sneak peek on Tuesday with Mr Hall expected to complete a fly-past of the iconic Saint on Castle Hill about midday.
