A STOLEN car was found alight this morning in a Townsville suburb, but the culprit was nowhere to be seen.
Police were called to an area of parkland behind Florida Pl, Kirwan about 4.30am on Wednesday morning after a car was set on fire.
The car, a Nissan Micra stolen from Rasmussen, went up in flames just behind houses.
The car was one of four vehicles stolen from across Townsville overnight.
He said the person behind the car fire fled the scene.
In the last week, Townsville District has recorded 16 unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges, with a handful of stolen cars still on the loose around the city.
A Mazda from Kirwan, a Ford Range from Idalia and a Mitsubishi from West End were also stolen overnight.
