THE IMAGES of a beaten and bruised West End woman attacked in her own home struck a cord with Julianne Wood, who is organising a way to make life a little brighter for the victim.
Ana Bristowe-Lamb, 80, was attacked by a juvenile armed with a crowbar in a violent home invasion on Saturday morning.
She needed six stitches in her head, and her face has been left swollen and bruised.
Take Back Townsville founder Julianne Wood felt she needed to help Ms Bristowe-Lamb after seeing the confronting images of her injuries.
“We’ve had so many victims of crime, but her experience just struck me really badly,” Ms Wood said.
“The way she reacted and what she went through, it just pulled the heart strings a bit.”
The community advocate has organised a donation drive and flower hamper for Ms Bristowe-Lamb.
Kirwan‘s Parkside Florist is facilitating the flower donation, and called on anyone who would like to pitch in to call or drop into the shop.
They are also collecting any other gifts to bundle up and deliver to Ms Bristowe-Lamb on Friday with the flowers.
Call Parkside Florist on 4773 2166 to donate.
