After a year-long hiatus the messy and gruelling Barra Muddy challenge will return this Sunday.
The 5km course built in the Barra Fun Park has more than 30 obstacles including a mud crawl, net crawl, climbing posts, balancing beams, wall climb and water obstacles.
“It’s a great opportunity for everyone to get out and work off a few of the COVID kilos,”
Barra Fun Park owner Brent Stevenson said.
“We’ve been working hard to prepare the course this year and we’ve added in new
obstacles to the track.
“When we’ve held Barra Muddy events in previous years, they have been hugely
popular.”

This year’s event replaces the Spartan race which was held at the same location last year.
Mr Stevenson said depending on people’s fitness, the course could be finished in as fast as 45 minutes or up to 1.5 hours.
“The course has been set up to cater for all fitness levels with easy and hard
obstacle options,” he said.
There will be staggered start times to cater for teams and family groups in a COVID-safe plan. Gates will open from 6.45am.
Tickets cost $55 each and can be bought from barrafunpark.com.
