A crime scene has been established after a house was destroyed by fire on Palm Island.

A HOME has been destroyed by fire, prompting police to establish a crime scene.

Firefighters and police were called to the house on Clump Point Rd, Palm Island shortly before 1pm on Sunday.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed the building on the western side of the island had been destroyed and said nobody was injured.

“There was no one inside at the time,” he said.

Fire investigators will be travelling to the island to determine the cause of the blaze.

“A crime scene has been established,” police said.

Paramedics remained on standby only following the house fire.
