A TODDLER has been reunited with a very important member of the family after he was accidentally left aboard a plane.
‘Dino’ the fluffy green dinosaur was en route to Townsville from Adelaide on Wednesday morning flying on a Virgin Australia plane when mum Jenna Harris realised he was missing, after a stop over in Brisbane.
Dino had been left on a plane after they swapped flights to continue their journey to Townsville.
Ms Harris said her 15-month-old daughter Mia was lost without Dino after arriving in Townsville at 11am.
“It was a quick turnaround with the flight to Townsville and Dino fell under the chair after we took him off Mia after she fell asleep on the plane,” she said.
“When we put her down for her daytime nap it wasn’t the best without Dino but we made do, but that night she slept like a dream because she had Dino.”
Thanks to the efforts of Virgin Australia, Mia was reunited with Dino at the Townsville Airport on Wednesday night.
Ms Evans said the reunion was a “nice way to end the year”.
“When we got to the airport Dino was sitting up and Mia saw him and pointed to him and ran over and gave him a big hug,” she said.
“He is a much loved member of the family.”
Virgin Australia social media leader Geetanjali Rai said Dino had the best seat in the house sitting in the cockpit next to the pilots.
“We’re pleased to have been able to reunite and fly Dino to Townsville,” he said.
