THE Townsville community is rallying around a local family who tragically lost their baby girl in a freak accident on Friday afternoon.
Baby Alice has been described online as a “vibrant” and “beautiful” girl with big blue eyes and an angelic smile who was loved by all.
She had just started to walk and was “taking on her curiosity of the world around her” when the tragedy occurred on Friday and Alice was “struck” by the family car at their home in Aitkenvale.
Her parents Maxine and Ben Lambert have been described as “loving” and “devoted” people who “make their little family such a desired unit of love”.
They transported Alice to the Townsville University Hospital for treatment but she was pronounced deceased on arrival.
The family was still mourning the loss of Maxine’s mum and are now faced with another tragic loss and have established a Go Fund Me page for financial support.

Alice’s family extended their thanks to emergency services and hospital staff for their work.
Local grief counsellor Chanel Lazarus, who lost her 22-month-old son Alfred to SIDS said losing a child was a “pain that never fades”.
Ms Lazarus founded a counselling service to offer support to others that have experience the loss of a child.
“Losing a child is a pain that never fades. This grief is with us always. The grief cycle has no particular stages it follows, it shuffles between anger, guilt, denial, depression, acceptance and many other emotions all rolled into one,” she said.
“They can be felt at any given moment, without warning.
“Hold on to each other tightly … seek support from people that can help.”
