SunCity Motorcycles is gearing up for their annual breast cancer charity ride this Saturday - and this time, it’s personal, as one of their own staff undergoes treatment.

SunCity’s long-time administration worker Maxine Worsley went to see a doctor in May this year after feeling tender and sore under her arm.

The diagnosis of breast cancer was a shock, and treatment was quickly started.

SunCity’s Mary-Jayne Lawless said Ms Worsley is “the glue of the dealership” and has always come in with a smile the entire 12 years she’s worked there.

“She has only just finished her treatment, and at the moment everything is going good,” Ms Lawless said.

SunCity is encouraging residents to “bring your pink A-game” and attend the event at the Woolcock store.

The Saturday charity event includes a barbecue, prizes for best dressed motorcycles, costumes, and raffles.

SunCity general manager Jake Stanfield said the charity ride will be an excellent opportunity for locals to come together and offer their support.

Funds raised by the ride will go towards Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Australian women, and it’s expected 20,973 women and 221 men will be diagnosed in Australia this year.

The motorcycle parade will depart on their ride at 1pm, Saturday October 26.
