Adding a bit of controversy to end the week is shaping up to be a blast with adult-only story time hitting the heart of Townsville City tonight.
Libraries Up Late: Adult Storytime will discuss everything from how to have a hangover to chucking a sickie, with nothing off-limits.
Hosts Anita Service and Petra Fiedwood will share stories from the quick-witted Ladybird Books for grown-ups written in the 1960s that are guaranteed not to be censored.

Nothing will be taboo tonight with Ms Service looking forward to “breaking down the barrier” to emerge from the nightclubs.
“We have this amazing opportunity to talk to people that normally wouldn’t come to our shows,” she said. “It is going to be fun and colourful and everyone needs some joy and a bit of laughter and we are going to facilitate that.”
The 18+ story time is an interactive experience that allows the audience to also share some of their cringe-worthy stories while sipping on a glass of champagne.
The session has sold out with 160 guests expected to fill the Flinders Street library.
Ms Fiedwood said the stories would be “tongue-in-cheek” with a personal touch.
“We are subversive in our delivery with what we do in the clubs so we are the perfect fit for the books and it is all about creating memories,” she said.
CityLibraries children’s and youth librarian Jo Branson said the progressive thinking event was about connecting the library’s resources with the public.
