A young male has died in a rollover on a North Queensland rural property Monday evening.

A rescue helicopter was flown to a property at Long Pocket after emergency services received reports of a young person being seriously injured in a vehicle rollover about 7.20pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the rollover in a cane paddock at Long Pocket about 30km west of Ingham.

It is understood the victim was a boy who lived on a family property in the Long Pocket area.

People at the scene of the incident performed CPR on the victim, as did Queensland Ambulance crews, but a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the young male was pronounced dead at the scene.

A number of residents were believed to be at the scene, along with emergency services including paramedics, a fire crew and multiple police units.

The rescue helicopter with a flight doctor and flight medic on board had left the scene by 10.15pm.

Police remained at the scene.
