AS THE community grapples with the needless loss of a young life, a teenage girl facing charges related to the death has come before a court.
The 17-year-old girl is charged with five counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle as well as a single charge of stealing.
Police allege she was a passenger inside a stolen Hyundai sedan which was involved in a fatal traffic crash that killed 22-year-old Jennifer Board on Friday night.

Defence lawyer Adam Mussap of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service appeared in the Townsville Childrens Court on behalf of the girl who remains in custody after police refused to grant her watch house bail.
Mr Mussap did not make an application for bail nor did he indicate how the matter would proceed.
Magistrate Viviana said the high-profile case had significant public interest and granted journalists permission to remain in the closed court matter to report on the proceedings.
Prosecutors tendered the girl’s criminal history and an objection to bail affidavit.
During the brief mention on Monday, a woman seated at the back of the courtroom became overcome with emotion.
“She was not even driving,” the woman said as she left the room.
Two other people have been arrested over the crash that killed Ms Board.
The incident, which is the latest in a series of heartbreaking fatal crashes allegedly involving youth offenders and stolen cars was the final spark which inflamed festering frustrations about the state’s youth bail laws and repeat offenders.
The girl’s matter was adjourned and will return to court later this week on February 11.
