It will be a visual delight at the North Queensland Cowboys versus Brisbane Broncos match tomorrow night with 400 fans set to become official Cowboy mascots.

Footy fans in bay 118 at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium will be given a Queensland Country Bank Flip Jersey in support of the Cowboys.

The front panel can be unzipped to reveal a “try” sign to flip up each time the Cowboys score.

Bay 118 is directly underneath the stadium scoreboard at the northern end of the stadium.

The bay was strategically chosen as a key television broadcast position that will see Townsville’s loyalty and enthusiasm plastered around Australia.

Queensland Country Bank chief executive officer Aaron Newman said he was impressed with the design.

“It is fantastic to have an innovative promotional product like this and demonstrate how we can support the Cowboys at the first game,” he said.

It took more than 18 months from the initial concept to delivering the completed product.

It received NRL licensing approval and has been patented worldwide.

The jersey artwork was created by local designer Verve Design.

Get Branded director Madonna Simmons was the push behind the idea and said it had been a thrill to bring the creation to fruition.

“Working on this project to develop the Flip Jersey means that there have been two local businesses collaborating to have an awesome fan engagement promotional product,” she said.

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys general manager – commercial Ross Aldridge said the jerseys would enhance the game day experience.

“We’re thrilled that our long term partners Queensland Country Bank have got behind the team like this and given fans the opportunity to cheer even louder after every try,” he said.
