A Toowoomba athlete jetsetting to Europe in an attempt to make the Australian Olympic team, but he needs your help.
Australian track sprinter and UniSQ student Jai Gordon is eyeing Paris, but there’s a few steps before he can reach the French capital.
Gordon, 20, will fly to Europe, competing for the fastest time in a bid to make the Olympic 100 metre relay team.
The trip will see Jai try to earn points for world ranking and achieve the qualifying times for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The sprinter is also a trainer at a local gym and coaches students at Toowoomba Grammar School.
Gordon is looking for help to make these dreams a reality, to help cover the cost of flights to and around Europe.
Overseas he will compete in five countries against some of the best runners in the world.
Gordon said he “absolutely” had a point to prove after smashing domestic titles and “being in the conversation” of the Olympics.
With a goal of $7000, the athlete has raised almost half the amount and is looking for support from the region to help him get over the finish line.
You can donate to Jai’s dream by donating to his Last Chance Paris fundraiser.
