1. Fairholme Spring Fair

Fairholme College’s signature event returns for another year on Saturday.

Expect specialty markets, thrilling rides, scrumptious food and even a fashion parade scattered through one of Toowoomba’s elite schools from 10am-3pm.

Some of the food offerings will include a smoked Wagyu beef burger, homemade cakes and a Turkish gozleme.

The fashion parade kicks off at 10.30am, while the popular Boarder Cent Sale draws its prizes at 3pm.

2. Hike for the Homeless

Toowoomba residents are set to pop on their running shoes on Saturday morning for the annual Hike for Homeless.

This popular event aims to raise awareness of homelessness in Toowoomba and raises funds to ensure the Basement Soup Kitchen continues delivering meals, blankets, clothing and other essential services.

If you want to cheer on the runners event begins with staggered starts at Jubilee Park between the hours of 5.45-6.45am.

There is a 5km, 10km and 20km run.

3. Concordia Oktoberfest

A slice of Germany heads to the grounds of the Concordia Lutheran College on Saturday for its Oktoberfest celebrations.

The historic schoolgrounds will play host to this cultural celebration, including a wurst competition, an array of traditional beers and a heap of entertainment options.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for school-aged children.

4. Toowoomba Gemfest

Lapidary lovers, your favourite event is back in the Garden City.

Gemfest returns to the Centenary Heights State High School on Saturday and Sunday.

The event runs from 8.30am-4.30pm on Saturday, and 8.30am-3pm on Sunday.

Admission is $5 for people aged 13 and older, while those under the age of 12 can enter for free.

The comedian made famous by Fat Pizza and Housos is heading to Bone Idol Brewery for a night of laughs on Sunday.

Entry to the show is $39.80, and doors open at 5.30pm.

6. Antique Bottles and Collectables Show

If you want to pick up an antique or collectable this weekend, this is the event for you.

The antiques fair kicks off at the Crows Nest Showgrounds on Saturday, and runs from 8.30am-2.30pm.

Sales areas will be spread across the showgrounds, in addition to a multi-draw raffle and event silent bottle auction.

Entry is $5, and children under the age of 12 can enter for free.

There will be no ATM on site, so make sure you bring cash.

7. Graeme Connors

This titan of the Australian music scene will celebrate his 50-year career in his show at the Empire Theatre.

The book his show is based on, My Lyrical Life, contains 217 songs from the Mackay artist, and others like Slim Dusty, John Denver and Jon English.

Tickets to his Saturday show start at $76.10 for adults.

The performance begins at 7.30pm.

8. Starcrossed

Expect romance, rivaly and revenge as the Senior Impact Ensemble takes to the stage on Saturday, for the final performance of Starcrossed.

The original script, which is inspired by Romeo and Juliet, revolves around a group of teens at a drama camp and their “web of relationships”.

Saturday’s show in the Armitage Centre begins at 7.30pm.

9. DownsSteam Super Saturday

It’s a super Saturday at DownsSteam this weekend.

From 9am-3pm, visitors can expect tours of the precinct, heritage bus rides, and the Robey steam engine will be running.

Entry is $5, and children can visit for free.

10. Horse racing

On a big weekend for racing across the country, the horses will also run at Clifford Park Racecourse.

The betting ring and main bar opens from 10am, and live racing kicks off at 4pm.

Adult tickets are $10, while concession card holders and children aged between 13-17 can enter for $5.

Children aged under 12 can enter for free.
