Toowoomba Marathon
Thousands of runners will make their way through the streets of the Garden City on Sunday morning for the Toowoomba Marathon.
There is a race for everyone, ranging from the 42km full marathon right down to the 2km junior dash.

Faces of Time
Check out the stunning art from Maree Cameron when she officially opens her 30th solo exhibition this weekend.
Faces of Time will be on display at the Toowoomba Art Society from April 30-May 26.
The official opening will be held on Saturday at 10.30am, and morning tea will be supplied.
Toowoomba Art Society is at Culliford House on Godsall Street.
Britpop at Bodega
It’s time to head back to the halcyon days of ‘90s Britpop when Cool Britannia arrives in Toowoomba on Sunday night.
This prominent touring band plays all the hits from classic British artists like Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Happy Mondays and heaps more.
The gig kicks off at 8pm.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at Trybooking.
Toowoomba Rose Show
Come and smell the roses at Newtown Park this weekend, for the annual Autumn Rose Show.
Queensland Rose Society Inc – Darling Downs will again host this yearly event across Saturday and Sunday.
Entry on Saturday is from 11.30am-4pm and 9am-3pm on Sunday.
Entry is by gold coin donation.
Free Comic Book Day
Support your local comic book store and pick up a free comic on Saturday morning.
Kaboom Comics on Ruthven Street will have a range of free comics for Free Comic Book Day, subject to availability.
Local artist Will McLaren will create free sketches, and there may even be a visit from a certain famous web-slinger.
Grace Jarvis
Comedian Grace Jarvis returns to her hometown on Saturday for a night of delightfully unique laughs.
This Is The Last Goldfish That I Am Going to Eat For You covers growing up queer and neurodivergent in regional Queensland, being raised by veterans and a general proficiency for getting herself into scrapes.
The gig will be held in the Church Theatre from 7.30pm.
Adult tickets can be purchased for $32 on the Empire Theatre website.
Weber Bros Circus
Revellers are invited to the Weber Bros Entertainment’s iconic, seventh generation circus, as it calls Queens Park home for two weeks.
Show director Kiarnna Weber said the family-run event would feature a packed, two-hour show that includes death-defying stunts, amazing aerial acrobatics and side-splitting comedy.

Markets for Mission
Middle Ridge Uniting Church Market Day will raise funds for Meals on Wheels Toowoomba and Winter Shelter Toowoomba at the Markets for Mission this weekend.
The indoor stalls will include trash and treasure, cakes, books, plants, craft, cafe and even a sausage sizzle
The markets will be held from 7am-1pm on Saturday.
Star Wars Day
Celebrate Star Wars Day at Grand Central on Saturday, and grab a selfie with a Stormtrooper.
These bad guys are doing good, with the 501st Legion raising vital funds for Tony’s Community Kitchen.
Visit the Stormtroopers on Level 2, near Brutal Deluxe from 10am-noon and from 1pm to 3pm at Event Cinemas.
There is a Star Wars movie marathon from 3.30pm.
Regular markets
Head along to the regular markets this weekend and pick up some fresh produce.
The Toowoomba Farmers Market will be held at the corner of Lindsay and Campbell Streets from 7am-noon on Saturday.
There is also an indoor market at the Oakey Cultural Centre from 9am-2pm on Saturday.
