Vandal smears human poo on real estate signs

The owners of a home have pleaded for the serial offender who keeps smearing the rental sign in front of their home with human faeces to stop.

Someone has been smearing what appears to be human faeces on Hot Property Real Estate signs in Pittsworth.

A Pittsworth family has pleaded with the person responsible for a disgusting act of vandalism to stop.

Three times last week a Hot Property Real Estate home advertising their home was smeared with human faeces by an unknown assailant.

The family’s mother, who wished to remain anonymous, said at first she thought the offending material was mud.

“The real estate agent put the sign up last week and for the first few days it was all good, then one day I saw there was something on the board and I asked my son to clean it up,” she said.

“When he got closer he said, ‘listen mum, that is poop and I’m not touching it.’”.

Nevertheless, the family cleaned away the faeces only for the vandal to strike again the following day.

“It looked like someone had defecated in their hand, ran down the road and smashed it against the wall,” the mother said.

Again it was cleaned away, in vain.

“On Friday I was on my way to Toowoomba when I saw three small spots of poop, but when I got home there was even more on the sign.”

The family contacted the Hot Property who removed the sign and compensated the son for cleaning the waste.

“They have been really helpful,” the mum said.

The mother also took to social media, posting in the community group about the vandalism and asking the offender to stop.

That appears to have resolved the matter, though the offender’s identity remains a mystery.

Hot Property director Jacob Carlile took the unsightly assault in his stride, saying his agents’ signs were vandalised often.

“When you plaster your face everywhere you have to expect it,” he said.

“We have had teeth coloured out, horns drawn on their heads, but we have not had human faeces before.”
