Powerful telescopes set up in the UniSQ quadrangle have attracted curious scientists, keen to discover what the sun looks like under magnification.
The display, one of many scattered throughout the campus, was part of showcasing UniSQ.
On Sunday the university combined its regular open day with National Science Week.
Appealing to families, the iLAuNCH Space Family Fun exhibits saw young minds introduced to air-powered rockets.
They could also make their own galactic space slime and engage in other hands-on science magic.
“We hope these events may just ignite a spark that turns into a lifelong interest in science and space, and possibly a career in that will help us build the workforce of the future. Creating hands-on activities makes space not only accessible, but exciting for all ages,” iLAuNCH marketing and events co-ordinator Kavanna Trewavas said in a statement.
iLAuNCH is a federal government university partnership program funded to accelerate space innovation and develop skills to build the workforce of the future.
