Should dogs be allowed in public spaces like parks? It’s something the council wants community feedback on by the end of the month.

Canine access to public places like parks across the region will be put to public consultation, with the Toowoomba Regional Council asking for feedback on whether anything needs to change.
Councillor Tim McMahon said the consultation process would inform the council on the types of places dogs were allowed to access.
“We understand people have different levels of interest in dogs,” he said.
“While some may not own a dog of their own, but enjoy being around them in shared open spaces, such as parks and off-leash areas, others might prefer to spend time in places that are dog free and value the provision of dedicated areas for the protection of wildlife.
“We’d love all community members to share their thoughts and ideas on dogs and how they interact with our shared spaces, whether you’re a dog owner or not.
“Residents can have their say through the council’s Your Say website until June 30.”
