A Queensland radio personality has sent out a plea on social media to pray for a young man who was seriously injured in a crash on the Toowoomba Bypass.
The young man suffered serious injuries after the truck and vehicle crash at Postmans Ridge about 3pm on Thursday afternoon.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the first crew arrived about 3.07pm to find a man encapsulated in the vehicle.
Fire crews used cutting tools to access the person, a man in his 20s, and he was freed by about 3.39pm.
Matt Prater, a Christian radio personality, pastor and podcaster was on his way to Chinchilla when he became stuck in traffic.
“Please pray for this young guy. He’s in the ambulance alive now but his leg is busted up,’’ Mr Prater posted on social media.
Many responded saying they were praying for the young man.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics assessed the man, who had suffered a “significant” leg injury.
A rescue helicopter was called to the scene and the highway’s westbound lanes were closed to allow the helicopter to land.
A patient in a serious condition with a significant leg injury was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
