A Toowoomba jeweller who specialises in custom, bespoke pieces has again designed and donated a stunning ring to this year’s LifeFlight Gala Ball.

Ryley Jewellery Collections has been sponsoring the event since 2017, each year donating an exquisite piece of work to match each gala’s event theme.

In that time the owners Ewen and Christel Ryley have helped raise more than $50,000.

Mrs Ryley said they were proud to support such an incredible organisation.

“We have seen the impact of their important work from not only attending the gala events but also from one of our own clients who required LifeFlight’s emergency services,” she said.

This year they have designed and donated a custom made platinum and 18ct yellow gold “secret compartment” dress ring featuring a 1.79ct Australian green-yellow parti sapphire and over 0.5ct of diamonds.

The total value of the ring, which will be the major prize in this year’s balloon pop raffle, is over $11,000.

Mrs Ryley said they hoped to raise between $20,000 and $30,000.

“As this year’s theme is Magic and Miracles we have designed a hidden hinge and catch system which allows the entire main setting to open to reveal the secret compartment which will house a heart shaped LifeFlight token representing the Save A Life program by LifeFlight,” she said.

“The ring was designed and set by Ewen and assembled by our jeweller, Janessa Lawson. The total time from design to finished product was 32 hours.”

The LifeFlight Gala will be held on Saturday, May 22 at Rumours International.
