A popular antiques store north of Toowoomba has been given the green light to expand its shop.
Salts Antiques, which was originally based in Crows Nest but moved to a site in Wilkes Road in Hampton last year, submitted plans in April to add more than 80 sqm of gross floor area to the building.
The store sells records, collectable toys and games, bronze figures, retro items, clocks and dolls.
According to the report by Precinct Urban Planning, the extension would be used for additional storage and display of stock.
During consultations with council, the final expansion was for 85 sqm and nine carparking spaces in a formalised parking area.
Planning officer Nadia McLeod recommended the expansion be approved.
Salts Antiques was located at the Nolan’s Block in Crows Nest before the building was sold in late 2020.
A consortium of small business owners is now restoring the building as an early 20th century emporium.
