Motorists across Toowoomba were left confused as railway crossings across the city were flashing and boom gates were down for at least half an hour before peak hour traffic on Monday.
Queensland Rail is investigating what caused a power outage that sent all level crossings across Toowoomba into oncoming train mode, with warning lights flashing, and boom gates down.
The power outage happened around 6.50am on Monday morning and was fixed about 7.20am, a QR spokeswoman said.
There were no disruptions to rail traffic during this time, and no reported injuries, she said.
“Lights flashing boom gates down … but no trains,” Maria Steel posted on social media.
The issue was fixed within under half an hour, and QR are investigating into what caused the power outage, the QR spokeswoman said.
